Denver Science Museum

Really nice place.  Good exhibits.  Really huge.  Good features.  Nice layouts.  Much to learn.  It was a really quiet morning.  Very slow, very calm.

But at about 10am….i think they had a reverse fire drill and every kid in the denver area had to enter the building. And this is more of an auditory experience so head phones or good speakers.

If im gonna be in colorado…

En route to denver from durango and after a coffee in pagosa springs, saw this sign. Random fact: its on national forest land so they arent allowed to have lids for their drinks. Some contractual thing.

And a pic of a helmet so my mom doesnt get scared about cracking my head open. Because she will worry even after i am safe if i didnt have one on at the time.

Here is a vid so my mom can see i am not going to be in an avalanche and how safe it is. Of course, i didnt show the pics from when going through the trees…

4 corners

From Monument, I headed east to the 4 Corners Monument.  Where the only place in the USA do 4 states meet.  As a kid, I searched for other states thinking the experts were missing one.  Needless to say, I am still looking.

When you drive up, you’re greeted by a wall of doors.  Its like a gameshow…pick the right one and you can see the 4 corners, otherwise, you lose.  All the doors are actually wrong.  They are the doors for the vendor sections.  I personally think its bad design, but I guess each state has a right to sell things.

Anyhow, I have always wanted to put two feet in two states and my hands on the other two states.  No pics of that though.

Nearby is a hike where I took that overview shot.  Glad the hiking trail was free.  Couldnt imagine somebody sitting there collecting for a 10 minute hike.
